Imam Omar Suleiman is the Imam of Masjid Abu Bakr As-Siddique in New Orleans, Louisana and a member of the ICNA Shariah Council. Since 2008, hes been an instructor with the Sharia Academy of America through which he conducts online university courses and intensive weekend seminars in the areas of Aqeedah, Fiqh, Dawah, and Hadeeth.
He also teaches courses with the Islamic Learning Foundation in Tafseer and Seerah and recently joined AlMaghrib Institute as an instructor. He remains very heavily involved in community work and charity in his capacity as outreach director of ICNA Relief in Louisiana.
Hafidh Wisam Sharieff completed memorization of the Qur’an at the age of 16 in Chicago, Illinois. He went to formally study the science of Tajweed with Sh. Ahmad Wafa’a in Cairo, Egypt, and then went to the Qur’an Academy in Lahore, Pakistan, where he earned a Bachelor’s in Arabic and Islamic literature.
His recent studies include study intensives in Mecca and Madinah as well a return to Egypt where he attained his Izaajah in Tajweed with Sh. Ali Anwar and received a Shahadah in the text of ‘Ajroomiyah from Sh. Muhammad Helmi, thereby enhancing his background in Arabic grammar.
Imam Karim Abu Zaid is the Imam of Colorado Muslim Society. He was a student of Shaykh Abu Ishaq Al-Heweny. He obtained his Master’s in Usool Al-Deen, Fundamentals of Islam, Quranic and Hadeeth Sciences from the American Open University in Alexandria, VA.
He has memorized the entire Qur’an an has expertise in Tafsir, counseling, leadership development, program development and execution, and motivational lecturing and teaching. Imam Karim regularly appears on satellite channels including Huda TV and Guide US TV with his own shows such as “Best of Stories”, “Righteous Companions”, and “The Inevitable Journey”.
Imam Okasha Kameny is the Imam of Masjid Al-Wasatiyah Wal-Itidaal located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He has memorized the entire Qur’an as well as several of the major books of Hadith, including Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim from his homeland in West Africa.
He is a regular speaker in the DC Metropolitan area, and has online recorded lectures on the books of Bulugh Al-Maraam by Ibn Hajr (may Allah have mercy on him) and Jami’ Al-Uloom by Ibn Rajab (may Allah have mercy on him).
Shaykh Abdurrahman comes from a Syrian family who originally migrated from Mecca. For 12 years, Shaykh Abdurrahman sought knowledge from various renowned scholars from around the world including: Shaykh Ibn Baz, Shaykh Ibn Qu’ood, Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen, Shaykh Ibn Jibreen, Shaykh Ali Al-Tantawi, Shaykh Mohammad Al-Sabbagh, Shaykh Abdurrahman Albani, Shaykh Mohammad Arrawee, Shaykh Mohammad Saleh Al-Munajjid and many others.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, a Masters in Computer Science, and a PhD in Computer Science at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
Imam Safi Khan is the founder and director of the Dar-us-Salaam Community in College Park, MD. He has studied with world-renowned scholars in Saudi Arabia and has also attended Al-Azhar University in Cairo and Imam Muhammad ibn Saud University in Riyadh. He is well studied in matters of fiqh, tafsir and seerah.
For over twenty years, the Imam has been a prominent caller to Islam, and family and youth counselor in the Washington DC metropolitan area. Imam Safi Khan is also the religious adviser of the DC Hidayah Conference.
Shaykh Shakiel Humayun was born and raised in New York City. He graduated from Baruch College with a BBA in Business Administration. He then completed post-graduate studies at the Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah Al-Mukarramah receiving an Associates degree with honors. He continued his studies at the College of Shariah at Umm Al-Qura University.
He is currently pursuing his Masters in Usul Al-Fiqh. He has been active in the field of da’wah and teaching for 13 years in the U.S. He currently serves as the President at the Foundation for Knowledge and Development and as the CEO of Wellspring Elementary in New York.
Dr. Ahmed Sidky was born in Cairo, Egypt, where he graduated as Valedictorian with a Bachelor’s in Computer Science. He then went to Virginia Tech and earned his Master’s and PhD.
Dr. Ahmed has years of experience in leadership and Islamic activism. He was President of his local MSA chapter at Virginia Tech, MSA National East Zone Conference Co-Chair, East Zone US Representative, and then Vice President of MSA National USA. Traveling frequently all across the US and Canada, his speaking experience includes delivering numerous khutbas, conference lectures, workshops, and seminars across the nation.
